Whew, what a day. Things started off a little rocky today, and I found myself on my knees a few times, but as the day wore on, so did the joys! It started with my first contact call with my Marketing Director. I now have a release date!! We’re looking at the book hitting the shelves in September, but I can plan my launch parties and book signings now. And I get to order my copies ASAP! I am so looking forward to planning events and getting the word on infertility out there.
I also have a pre-order link! If you don’t think you’ll be able to make a launch or book signing (please, please, please come if you can, I so want to see you and tell you thank you for the love and support), you can purchase your copy now and it will be shipped to you upon release. All the books are printed right here in the US,( which makes me exceedingly happy) so shipping shouldn’t take too long once it is ready to roll. Right now only the paperback version is available, but the e-book should be up by early next week at the latest. My book has an ISBN!! (I know, I’m a book junky and stuff like that gets me all twitterpated 🙂 You can pre-order here for the paperback, and I’ll let you know when the e-book is up. If you want a hardback copy, you are welcome to that as well, but they are only available through me. So just let me know. 🙂 If you can’t tell, I’m just a little excited. 🙂

Then, to top it off, my work family threw me a surprise baby shower! They did such an amazing job, and on such short notice. I am so blessed to have them in my lives, and will miss them dearly next year!! Not only did they collaborate to have me in the right building (kind of a miracle) at the right time (really a miracle) but they put on a great spread and spoiled our new little Hanson (or as my dear friend has dubbed them: Henrietta or Herbert) to the max! Poor Jon has been stressing over not having any baby stuff, and now his mind is at ease. Thanks lady, daddy is going to sleep better tonight! And they have great taste!
Baby stuff is ridiculously cute. For so many years I haven’t even ventured down the baby isle. It hurt too much to smell that new baby smell of powder and lotions. To see all the too-small-to-be-real socks and outfits. To swing the swings and shake the rattles. I just couldn’t do it. Only in the last couple weeks, when this has really become a reality have I allowed myself to stroll through those isles. To be able to do that, to have a baby shower, to fill out a registry and prepare a nursery is all so surreal, it hasn’t fully sunk in yet. And I don’t think it really will until I finally hold that babe in my arms. And I cannot wait for that moment! Until then, I’ll suffice with all the sweet things my family and friends have blessed me with.
