It’s (almost) Friday! Which means Five Minute Friday time! I hope you’ll join me and link up over at Lisa Jo’s for a prompt and writing fest where hearts, hopes and community is shared!
My one word. Encourage. I’ve been wrestling with it. It came on a long car ride home on New Years Eve, after the whispers of my heart kept beating in my mind. Telling me It’s not about you. It’s about Him. It’s about her. It’s about them.
I heard the quiet call. I’ve been waiting, hoping he would use me. And I took the jump. The leap of faith-to step back and put others first. Not my story, but words that would encourage, life up, bring hope. And the words went dry. My fingers paused on the keyboard and a battle raged within my soul. What do I say? What do I write? What words are even worthy of being called an encouragement? A safe haven for hurting hearts? A home for the weary to rest and find peace. It’s what I want to provide. It’s what I hope to offer. It’s what I’m praying for him to pour through me.
So I’ll make a place here. I’ll clear off the table and wipe away the crumbs. I’ll offer you my favorite mug and fill it with coffee that steams up and warms your cheeks as you sip it. You can find community here. Hope for your restless heart. I’ll set a place for you at my table, clear a spot for you on my bench, and open my home for you to share your words, or ponder a thought as you rest your spirit. I hope to offer you encouragement. And I’ll be praying that you find it here.
